Photos:- OAU Students Deny Governor Aregbesola Entry Into Their Campus

Some students of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile – Ife, on Thursday, barred the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, from gaining entrance into their campus.

Aregbesola, was to deliver a lecture on ‘’Improving Nigerians Economy Through Diversification’’ at the Odudua Hall of the OAU, but failed to show up after students of the institution threatened to humiliate him, if he enters their campus.

Students trooped out em masse to block entrance of the Odudua hall on Thursday morning upon hearing that the governor would be present at the event organised by the faculty of agriculture of the OAU.

To show their grievances on alleged Osun State mismanagement and failure of the governor to pay workers salaries, Placard carrying students remained at the venue throughout the event to make sure the governor never entered the hall.

Recalled that students of same institution in 2014, warned the former President Goodluck Jonathan, not to enter the OAU campus and failing to heed their warning, was booed upon arrival.

Justifying their action, a protester simply known by Comrade Emma, said : ”When Great Ife students sneeze, oppressors catch cold.” He expalined that a failed government has nothing to say to them”

“We asserted our aluta power despite the militarization of campus, and the presence of the State Security Services. The governor advisers should be paid handsomely for telling him that Great Ife is a no-go area.” Emma said.
