Jonathan’s Men Have Started Returning Their Stolen Funds; Buhari warns incoming ministers to stay away from approving payments for contractors.

Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that some of the appointees of the ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, has started returning some of the stolen funds they carted away while serving in the government.

El-Rufai who made the disclosure in an interview with selected journalists yesterday said many of them have agreed to do so in the interest of the country.

El-Rufai, however refused to disclosed the identity of those who he claimed are returning the money and how much was so far been returned.

According to Premium Times, he said it was not right for the government with its good intentions to expose them because according to him, their actions shows they are patriotic.

On his own part, to cut costs in his state, El-Rufai has reduced the number of ministries in the state from 19 to 13, aiming to reduce the cost of governance.

Earlier this week El-Rufai banned the allocation of fertilizers to traditional rulers and politicians in all local government areas of the state.

During his swearing-in ceremony, El-Rufai had announced that he would cut his and his deputy‘s salaries by 50%.

Sticking to his promise to fight corruption, Buhari on his part, recently ordered the re-opening of the widely publicized Halliburton bribery case.

The president has also issued a warning to his incoming ministers to stay away from approving payments for contractors.
