Top Nollywood Movie Director, Lancelot Imasuen, Honours His Secondary School Teacher Who Taught Him Drama
Popular Nollywood movie director Lancelot Imasuen during the premiere of his latest movie ‘Lover Bird’ in Asaba, took out time to honour his secondary school drama teacher, Mrs Ifeanyi Oboh (rtd) who was part of the audience as his special guest.
Mr Lancelot while talking about his journey into the movie industry, brought out his former school teacher who was popularly called Mama Ify from the audience and narrated the huge role she played in his life to enable him to get to where he is today as an established movie practitioner.
As a secondary school student in Eghosa Grammar School, in the 80s, Mrs Oboh was responsible for setting up the school’s drama unit which went on to win numerous competitions and young Lancelot got his first break into TV in the then Bendel Broadcasting Service.
NET reached out to the retired teacher who was very excited to share fond memories of young Lancelot as JSS 1 student. She said: ‘Lancelot was a very active and seriously minded student, who took his studies serious, and had great love for acting and Chorales. He was a lead singer in all our Benin folklore and he held responsibility of keeping the group busy till I arrive. His Love Song Then Was ” Char Char Char, We Come Together,(3x)”. . .’
